Kimbal is also the Chef-Owner at The Kitchen in Boulder, Colorado. Kimbal drives the food, atmosphere and business and The Kitchen.
Before becoming a chef and opening The Kitchen, Kimbal has been a part of many exciting young businesses. His first, one of the early internet companies, Zip2, built online restaurant and city guides around the world in partnership with major media companies, including The New York Times. Kimbal was an angel investor in X.com and PayPal. He is also an investor and board member in several young start-ups around the country.
Kimbal is a graduate of The French Culinary Institute in New York City, and has a business degree from Queen's University, Canada.
Kimbal has two sons, Luca (3 years old) and August (12 months old), with his wife Jen Lewin. Luca can often be seen in the restaurant with Hugo's boys Rory and Ollie. August can be seen drooling, presumably at the food.
